Bloggers Love Pop Up Boutique

IWYC were super excited when we received an invite to attend bloggers fashion week in London and host a pop up boutique to showcase our spring collection.
The event was run by Bloggers Love who put on fashion events for bloggers. The event was invite only and was attended by a number of VIP bloggers. IWYC attended day 1 of the event on Monday and had a fantastic time chatting with all the guests and introducing the new range.
I received lots of great feedback on the new collection and fellow bloggers loved how unique and girly our key pieces were.

I Want Your Clothes is a new online fashion business set up in December 2013. The new clothing range has been a hit on both instagram and twitter with work currently under way to add a new website to it's repertoire which will allow customers to read all about what is up and coming with the option to purchase clothes from IWYC direct.
IWYC is about simplicity and class at affordable prices leaving your friends screaming "I Want Your Clothes".

IWYC's pastel range

This spring is all about super girly pastel colours and gorgeous floral prints. Our new collection is inspired by the S/S 2014 catwalks that took place at the end of last year. Cara Delevingne (see below) walked down the Burberry catwalk head to toe in pastel pink to start the 2014 pastel craze. IWYC's key piece form the pastel collection is this open back blouse. The sleeves and collar are embroidered giving this piece a sophisticated feel. This blouse is available in pink and lilac. Paris in the Spring

2014 is fast approaching and I couldn't be more excited for the year ahead. I Want Your Clothes have so much planned already. With the launch of our website and a trip to Paris Fashion week in early Spring I have never been so happy to start a new year. I can't wait to get my camera out and start working on our street style inspired collection. I wanted to give you a sneak peak of our new arrivals that will be coming to IWYC in January. Taking the next step

Back in September 2011 I had just turned 30 (Noooo) but was lucky enough to fulfil one of my biggest dreams which was to go to New York Fashion week (a 30^th birthday present from my family). I have visited New York a few times as my best friend moved out there just over 10 years ago. Whilst visiting, one of my favourite activities was wondering the streets of Greenwich Village looking for my next purchase. I would spend hours in the shops and chatting to the independent shop owners about their ranges and history of their brands and always found it fascinating. I photographed street style and some of the catwalk shows. On the plane on the way home I was flicking through the pictures and thought about the idea of starting a fashion blog (working in fashion has been a dream of mine for a longtime) and that’s when I came up with "I Want Your Clothes". The concept was to photograph other people’s style and find related outfits that you could buy. I decided to start studying fashion photography to improve my knowledge of my camera so that I could take better photos and since then I have completed a number of projects and enjoyed developing my blog, including my Instagram site with I started back in April.

Now 2 years on I have been given the opportunity to start developing my own clothing range and to work with independent brands so you can now buy items direct from us. I am only in the early stages but am excited about what 2014 may bring for I Want Your Clothes.

It's all Rosey

Last night I went to see Lucy Rose play at Queens Social Club in Sheffield. I was introducted to Lucy Rose a few years ago when she performed vocals on Bombay Bicycle clubs album Flaws.

Last year Lucy released her solo album "Like we used to" and I went to see her preform to a very small crowd in the Plug, Sheffield. I was instently mesmerised by Lucy. Her voice is amazing. She is one of few artists that I have seen that sounds exactly the same live as on her recorded tracks. She has the voice of an angel as well as being an amazing guitarist and songwriter. Not to mention her great style too.

Lucy returned to Yorkshire on her UK tour. She explained to the crowd that she was so inspired the last time she visited that she had written a song for her forthcoming album named 'Sheffield' which she performed last night.

Lucy looked effortlessly cool in skinny jeans and a T shirt.

Launch of I want your clothes - captured. Boom I'm back.

Well it's been a long time but I'm back. It's time to get the camera back out and get writing (better late than never).  I'm feeling re-inspired and just started up my new picture blog which I will be updating daily with loads of cool fashion pictures of everything I love.

The Capri Crop

I realise that I haven't posted for nearly six weeks. Tut tut I'm disappointed in myself too. I don't really have an excuse apart from the usual, I have been busy, catching up with friends and generally enjoying life. So what's new in the world of fashion? Cropped trousers (or Capri pants) are going to be making an appearance this Autumn. I spotted this girl in Manchester and really like these cropped turn up jeans that she was wearing.

Sonja de Lennart made Capri pants famous in the 40's after the second world war, when Sonja's family lost all their fortune after the war ended. Sonja was inspired to launch her fashion range and put her designs up for sale in a small boutique in Munich. Many post war film stars took a liking to her clothes, making them a hit all over the world. Sonja and her family had a love of the Italian Island of Capri, which is where the name of these cropped trousers originated from.

Peter Doherty and The Kooples

So Pete Doherty has been living in France for the last few years and he definitely hasn't been sat around twiddling his thumbs. His new film Confession of a Child of the Century, an adaptation of french writer Alfred de Musset's french novel, premiered today at the Cannes film festival. Reviews have been mixed. I will certainly be giving it a watch and making my own judgements on Pete's acting skills. He has just finished writing his new solo album and has collaborated with the french designer The Kooples and launched his own clothing range. I have always loved The Kooples. Their clothes are sleek, classic and sophisticated, which are not normally words used to describe Mr Doherty but maybe he has matured and personally I think he has style. In the interview below Pete talks about his views on fashion. One of my favourite parts is when he talks about his artwork on his T- Shirt designs. He explained that he had to be careful to keep the designs clean, which takes me back to the time in the 70's when Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm Mclaren were arrested for their indecent T- shirt design of two naked cowboys. Pete also talks about the influence of 60's and 70's on fashion and his designs. I took these photos based on this classic shirt from the Women's range. Pete used his on/off girlfriend Irina Lazareauna as a model. Love him or hate him the guy certainly has talent.

Keeping it nude

Having returned from my holiday I'm feeling all happy and ready for summer. I have returned with loads of new ideas and have quite a few photos to post from a few projects I have been working on. I guess this blog is more of a journey of my photography as well as giving you guys some outfit inspiration. Since I started in December I have definitely developed my photography and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in to some more photo shoots now that I have got a bit more free time.

I am using a bit of positive thinking and hope that we will be able to get our summer dresses soon.  I love this Matthew Williamson nude dress with this sun hat and bright pink lips. I actually took this photograph a few months ago but this dress was not available to buy, as it was from the new summer collection from Seasons clothing in Sheffield.

Fallen Angel

A contrast to the ice queen this angelic look is perfect for spring. I wore this outfit myself to a friend's party on Saturday night and had a few people asking where I got it from, so I thought I would post this look. 

I quite like the fact that you can mix and match this outfit and dress the skirt down with a jumper or wear the blouse with jeans. The 2 pieces go with loads of things I already have in my wardrobe.

Ice queen

Well I have been rubbish at posting lately as I have been working on a backlog of photos. A few weeks back I was lucky enough to do a studio photo shoot with Rossella Vanon . I have finally edited my photos (below is just a sample I will post a few more this week). 

Throughout the day we experimented with studio lighting and I got some great photoshop and editing tips. I think I still have a long way to go before I'm ready to start shooting for Vogue, unlike the very talented Rossella, who is a high end fashion photographer and recently won 2011 professional photographer of the year but I'm really enjoying learning and seeing my work progress.  I also worked with an excellent stylist who put together this look. I love the sheerness of this blouse and the prominent collar.
